Blood supply levels are critically low and area hospitals say they need your help.

Blood types O+, O-, A-, and B- in particular, have fallen far below the desired supply across the area.

"To be honest with you, it's critical," says Evelyn Peters, RN of the Greenview Regional Hospital Emergency Department. "Here in the emergency room, it takes just one severely ill patient to deplete all our supply. So, we need to have a good supply on hand at all times as does everywhere in the community."

Blood donations can be given tomorrow and every Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 430 Center St. in Bowling Green. You may donate blood if you are 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and are in good health. You may also give blood if you're 16 and have parental consent.
