Severe Storms Pelt South Central Kentucky

Severe Weather has struck several South Central Kentucky counties bringing damaging winds and tornadoes along with them.

Officials say strong winds damaged homes along the Metcalfe-Barren county line in southeastern Kentucky this afternoon.

State police say storms caused minor injuries, but officials continue to survey the damage.

Barren County Judge-Executive Davie Greer was on the scene in the eastern part of the county.

She says she has observed two homes that were completely destroyed by strong winds near state Highway 90.

Hail damage was also reported in Horse Cave, Kentucky.

The hailstorm damaged several homes and broke some windows in homes and buildings.

Highway 79 in Logan County was shut down for several hours after high winds knocked a tractor trailer off the road.

The tractor trailer flipped onto its side and into a ditch.

Traffic is now back to normal.

These storms have passed by South Central Kentucky, but another round will be heading this way.
