The Senate unanimously approved the state's $18 billion budget. It now heads to the House, which is expected to put it to a vote.

The Senate's vote came at the end of a day-long review of the 663-page report that details the spending plan. Budget highlights include a plan that would give teachers pay by more than $4,100 over the next two years.

Lawmakers have also set aside more than $50 million to buy computers for elementary and middle schools.

State employees would receive sliding wage increases under the plan, with the least-paid workers in line for the largest raises.

Critics say they're worried about the state taking over $2 billion in debt to help pay for it all. However, that didn't stop the Senate from moving the bill on with a 38-to-0 stamp of approval.
