Students at Natcher Elementary are participating in a hands-on algebra program. Students use objects to represent algebraic symbols. If they can balance a scale, they can also balance the equation.
Teacher Alice Cantrall said so far students have started to grasp the program well. Many times students have a hard time visualizing, but with the program students can actually see how an equation works.
