I-65 Crash Kills Three

According to Kentucky State Police the accident occurred just after nine Friday night.

Investigating officers say a U-Haul traveling northbound crossed the median into oncoming southbound traffic.

The U-Haul then struck a tractor trailer driven by 27-year-old Corey Hill of Missouri and continued north in the southbound lane....until it struck another tractor trailer driven by 32-year-old Gregorio Trevino.

The U-Haul and Trevino’s tractor trailer caught fire...Along with a third vehicle nearby not involved in the accident.

The Simpson county coroner...Tom Crafton pronounced the driver of the U-Haul and passenger dead at the scene. Their names are not being released at this time.

Gregorio Trevino of Crystal City, Texas was also pronounced dead at the scene. 27-year-old Corey Hill of Missouri was not injured in the crash.

The accident shut down traffic in both directions between exit 20 at the Natcher Parkway and Exit six in Franklin.

Kentucky State Police say both lanes were back open a little after 9:30 Saturday morning.
