hey, tired of slander-it's not slander, if it's the truth. Gaddie just boo-hooed to fiscal court that he and his deputies were driving dangerous old cars with high mileage. Don't take wasteful trips and maybe your cars would not fall apart!!! Praying that 2010 gets here quick and the county wises up.

At at least he was treated farily. They did not blow up his car as happended in T-ville..

There is always a way to check and see if you have the right person before wasting taxpayers money for nothing.

We all make mistakes, but it seems like the good sheriff of Butler Co is making more than most. For an educated man, he certainly is not using his brain.

Our sheriff dept is broke all the time but joe gaddie has the money to drive to california to pick up the wrong man, something isn't right here

Sounds like something Barney Fife might do. How much does it cost in fuel to drive round trip across country time food lodging? Who's paying for it. These kinds of mistakes are UNACCEPTABLE! Put your thinking caps on boys! Ever hear of an airplane?

If it had been in B.G they would have sent 8 cops and a few D.A's to pick up what they weren't sure was the right person, butler county should feel lucky!!!

get used to it!!!he just needed a vacation and the tax payers paid for it, AGAIN, just another waste of money

Sheriff Gaddie and his department did nothing wrong. I wish that people in Butler County would start supporting the Sheriff instead of trying to undermind and discredit him every chance they get. This type of slander(or whatever you want to call it) is not doing anyone in Butler County any good. Joe Gaddie and the Sheriff's Department are doing a fine job!!!

i think sheriff gaddie should enjoy his time as sheriff because i feel he is a one term sheriff, when u do not even taked care of your community and relay on KSP to come from bowling green but u will drive across country for a person goes to show that he is no kind of law enforcement officer bring back SHERIFF MORRIS.

yea im just wanted to say if Sheriff Joe Gaddie knew his job when the man was saying u have the wrong person.he should have stopet along the why be for he got to far and had his finger prints done.that just shows Sheriff Joe Gaddie.should step down.

Everyone in Butler County did the right thing? Yes, everyone except Sheriff Gaddie. He should have never went across the country to get someone on such minor charges first, and if he decided to go, he should have CHECKED THE PRINTS! Jailer Fugate checked the prints and had it figured out that it wasn't the right man within a few hours, this could have all been avoided in Gaddie would have taken the time to check the prints himself. Why didn't he? Because he's too lazy. Why would he take time to check the prints when he won't even respond to 911 calls?

So, Do the math here. Over $1000.00 in FUEL!! The expenses for the Cops FOOD!! The 2 person SALARY for the trip!! HOLY COW!!!! Easily over $2000.00 for a trip that could have cost under $500.00 for discounted AIRFARE!! HELLLO!! AIRPLANE!! PORK! PORK! PORK!!
