Students at Moss Middle School are keeping a close eye on the war with Iraq. Every day in social studies students start the first five minutes of class with a discussion about the war. In addition to the discussion they also watch the top of a newscast. Teacher Craig Anderson, says sometimes the topic can be confusing and students often have questions.
Besides asking questions, students can share news they've heard outside of class, which often leads to discussion. Anderson is in the minority of teachers dedicating class time to the war but he says he believes its important for students to know what's going on. Anderson says he hopes his students can take the lessons learned from war now with them into the future.
