A Big Change

With the help of a Franklin woman, elementary school students are sending shoeboxes filled with supplies to troops stationed overseas. It all started in November when Tiffany Wilson decided to show support to members of the area's National Guard. They were deployed to Bosnia, and Wilson wanted to help in a tangible way. Thus, elementary school students from the Franklin-Simpson School District helped put together a truckload of boxes.

According to officials at Fort Campbell, the military no longer allows you to send care packages or mail to random soldiers in Bosnia or anywhere U.S. troops are stationed for security purposes. Wilson can send these packages because she has a specific address of a friend who is stationed there. Fort Campbell is forwarding all care packages to family members left behind at the base.
