The Bowling Green Independent School District and the Barren River District Health Department identify a potential case of tuberculosis, also known as TB at Bowling Green High School.

A press conference was held this morning at the Joel C. Brown Administration Building to discuss the situation and answer questions.

Students and adults who are identified as high risk for exposure will be notified within seven days of their requirement to be screened.

"We will certainly notify those who we believe should be screened, and will make arrangements to provide those screenings with no cost to any students or employees who need to be screened," said Joe Tinius, Superintendent of Bowling Green city schools.

The health department assures the Bowling Green Independent School District it is safe to continue to have classes at Bowling Green High School.

If you have any questions or concerns you can call the Barren River District Health Department's Communicable Disease Team at 270-781-8039 extension 126.
