Kentucky State Police are still investigating the cause of Tuesday's fire in Butler County leaving one woman dead.

As the family waits to find out just what happened to 31-year-old Gloria Groves, they spoke to Ryan Dearbone about the loss of a woman they'll never forget.

"Its still a shock to me. I can't believe she's really gone," says Groves' mother-in-law, Sandra Watson.

Its a bad dream Watson says she wishes her whole family could wake up from.

Sadly, no one will wake up to find Gloria Groves alive again.

A fire at Grove's home at 6821 Woodbury Loop in Woodbury took her life.

"I just couldn't believe it. I was just hoping and praying that she had gotten out. It just don't seem real," Watson admits.

"We've been married for 14 years. Its gonna be hard to let her go, but I have to," expresses Groves' husband, Jimmy.

Groves' never wants their children, 10-year-old twins, Michael and Melody to forget how much their mom loved them.

"Her main world was these two kids. She'd do anything for them," Groves' said through tears.

He believes even in death, Gloria will still help him raise the children one way or the other.

Groves' passion for living is something Watson says she'll never forget.

"She loved camping. She wouldn't go fishing but she loved to go camping. I don't know if I can even go camping without her anymore," Watson tearfully states.

Even though all that's left to hold on to are pictures of Gloria, she'll always be a part of the Grove's family.

"She'll always be alive in my memory," Watson says.

Groves' visitation is Thursday starting at 5:30 at Tucker's Funeral Home in Central City with the funeral Friday morning at 10 also at Tucker's Funeral Home.

Donations can be made to the family at any Old National Bank location as well as Shoney's Restaurants in Owensboro and Central City.
