A taxi cab service is finally running again in Bowling Green.

Franklin taxi owner Dan Spears says an authority was signed by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet yesterday, allowing him to operate taxis here in town and in surrounding counties.

The service is taking calls for rides and expects to have around 15 taxi's on the road by Monday.

Spears says the company is also hiring drivers.

Dan Spears bought the licenses for the Bowling Green taxi service last week after former Yellow Cab owner Joe Boyd shut the business down citing increased operating costs.
