An area fire destroys a home just days after its renovation is complete. Franklin City firefighters responded to the fire on Jackson Street.
The home, owned by Dorothy Stewart, was completely renovated as part of the Harristown Revitalization project a few days before the fire occurred.
Stewart managed to escape from the fire with the help of a neighbor, suffering first and second degree burns. Heat from the blaze melted the siding on a neighbor's residence and took firefighters almost 3 hours to put out.
The home was a complete loss and the cause of the fire is still be investigated.
