Flags at Half-Staff for Sgt. Halsel

Staff sergeant Santiago Halsel, 32, from Bowling Green, died of injuries sustained in Baghdad may 16. An "improvised explosive device" detonated while he was conducting a dismounted clearance mission during combat operations.

Halsel was assigned to the Army's 2nd battalion, 502nd infantry regiment, 2nd brigade combat team, 101st airborne division out of Fort Campbell.

Flags will remain at half-staff throughout the state, until sunset on the day of Halsel's funeral. At this time, funeral arrangements are pending.
