Many expecting to see The Greatest Show on Earth this morning were turned away after finding out the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus had been cancelled.
Around 30 people who bought tickets online, showed up at Western Kentucky University's Diddle Arena not knowing there wasn't going to be a 10:30 a.m. show.
One man, who brought his children to the event, says he's pleased with how WKU handled the situation, but can't say the same for Circus Officials.
"The people of WKU have been very cooperative, but unfortunately Ringling Bros. has not been as cooperative. No one from Ringling Bros. would show their face and talk to us", said Michael Menendez, who drove from Nashville.
WKU's Director of Campus and Community Events Jeff Younglove says an announcement was made and posted online last week notifying circus-goers the show was cancelled.
Only about 100 tickets had been sold for the morning event.
Younglove says arrangements were made to refund anyone's money, or to receive a voucher for the 6:30 p.m. show tonight.
