The Medical Center at Franklin held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark a five million dollar expansion. The new patient wing will feature 25 private rooms as well as a new nurses station, prayer room and additional conference rooms. The project also includes the renovation of existing patient rooms and public areas and extensive physical plant upgrades. The facility was built in 1967 and acquired by Commonwealth Health Corporation in 2000. The new patient wing is expected to be completed in early 2007 with second phase renovations targeted for completion next spring.
