The United States is in the midst of a nursing shortage that is expected to intensify as baby boomers age and the need for health care grows.
Nurses at Greenview Hospital say the nursing shortage is a problem that will continue to worsen. Currently they have three nurse openings but many area hospitals need around 30 more nurses.
Many hospitals say female students are choosing other career options that were male dominated 10 years ago.
