Tens of thousands walked in Boston on Sunday to raise money for the fight against breast cancer.
Nearly 38 thousand people made the five mile trek for the American Cancer Society's 16th annual "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk.
The walkers raised about 3.3 million dollars to benefit breast cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient services.
"The city of Boston is proud to host this inspiring event during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While we all have different experiences with cancer, there's one thing we can agree on: fighting cancer is a team effort", said Boston mayor, Thomas Menino.
The annual walk, started in 1993, is the nation's oldest and largest one-day breast cancer walk.
