Children First: CATS Preparation

By Stephanie Stang |

For many students it's crunch time. College students have finals and high school and elementary students have CATS, which stands for Commonwealth Accountability Testing System.

Schools all over Kentucky test students on all the basic subject matter. Many schools are getting ready for tests all this week. At Warren Central High School students are taking practice tests, reviewing test taking strategies, and offering rewards for students who do well.

Although testing only lasts about a week educators follow curriculum guidelines throughout the year in preparation. In Warren County testing starts May 5 and ends May 16.

Students in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade do not take tests though. The school system is encouraging students to get plenty of sleep and eat breakfast during that time.
