Kentucky State Police are investigating human remains found buried in sinkhole in Simpson County. After receiving a tip, police and the state's medical examiner's office excavated a sinkhole on Calvert Street in Simpson County. The sinkhole had been filled with dirt and debris from an abandoned house that burned down last April.

With the help of cadaver dogs, they found several bones that had been burned. Dr. Emily Craig from the state examiner's office took the bones to Frankfort for further study. Kentucky State Police say they are checking the missing person lists and suspect foul play. Meanwhile police are waiting for the lab results from Frankfort. However they say it's often difficult to pull DNA from burned bones.
