Amateur Ham Radio Operators

Amateur Ham Radio operators from all over the nation sent messages and their call signs to each other, to practice their skills.

Earthquakes, fires, and disasters like Sept. 11 are what these operators were preparing for.

Then, when an emergency happens, the operators are prepared to step in and set up communication posts.

This field day was a 24 hour event, held from 1 p.m. on Saturday to 1 p.m. on Sunday.
