Glasgow Mayor and Two Former City Employees Indicted

According to the Glasgow Daily Times, Darrell Pickett, Carol Sue "Susie" Pollock, and Lorene Lee Hoffman were indicted yesterday in connection with payroll irregularities.

The charges stem from allegations that Pollock, in her role as city treasurer, altered the time sheets of hours worked by Hoffman, her sister and a civilian employee of the Glasgow Police Department.

Pollock took responsibility for the discrepancies in her resignation letter in 2004, but claims Pickett, chief of police at the time, directed her to make the changes, an accusation the mayor has vigorously denied.

Ironically, it was Pickett who ordered an audit in 2003 shortly after he took over as mayor.

Pickett faces one count of complicity to theft by deception. Hoffman faces five counts of complicity to theft by deception and one count of theft by deception. Pollock faces five counts of complicity to theft by deception and forgery in the second degree.

All three are set to be arraigned on July 10.
