The Whitley County Sheriff's Department and rescue personnel are continuing to search for a 15-year-old McCreary County boy who is missing and presumed drowned in the Cumberland River.

Search dogs were used yesterday and a helicopter was utilized, but there was no sign of Jubal Garland.

Authorities say the teen was fishing with his older brother, Caleb, around one a-m Tuesday near a rock formation when Jubal fell into the river while trying to retrieve a flashlight.

Detective Charles Davis of the Whitley County Sheriff's Department says that evidently, the boy slid off the rock into the river. His brother Caleb jumped in, but could not rescue him. The family was camped nearby.
