Although, the Fourth of July holiday driving period has ended, Kentucky law enforcement are promoting traffic safety all summer long.
Justice Cabinet Secretary General Norman E. Arflack along with other law enforcement officers across the state announced "Blue lights across the Bluegrass" campaign. The program will run until July 31.
A recent study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety indicates that more motor vehicle deaths occur on July 4 than any other day of the year.
This campaign will focus on speeding, impaired driving, and failure to use safety belts; which are all among the top causes of fatalities and serious injuries in traffic accidents.
