New KY Meth Lab Stats

By Associated Press |

Kentucky authorities say they're seizing fewer meth labs in the state.

The news comes in the year after Kentucky restricted the sale of products used to make meth.

The state's office of drug control policy reports meth-lab seizures fell nearly 57 percent.

That's more than the 50 percent they were hoping to get when the new law took effect.

Police only found 295 meth labs compared to 679 the year before.

The new laws make it harder for meth manufacturers to buy cold and allergy medicines that contain pseudoephedrine.

More than 30 states have the laws.
