101st Progress in Iraq

Major General Thomas Turner tells the associated press that soldiers in northern Iraq are starting to think about a day when attacks may stop.

Turner says that means that U.S. and Iraqi forces can start worrying about economics and projects. Places such as Tal Afar and Tikrit were once deeply embroiled in insurgent violence. The insurgent threat remains, but the area is less turbulent than central Iraq or the Western province of Anbar.
