WKU Radio Show Attracts National Audience

Just one year after launching a show on WKU's Revolution 91.7, Bowling Green morning personalities Lyle Smith and Kevin Mercer are going national.

Their show "The Morning After" will become the first nationally syndicated college morning show in non-commercial radio.

Smith and Mercer say they can't believe how their fan-base has grown.

"All of a sudden we started getting calls from Louisville saying, you guys are better than anything we have up here. I was like, are you kidding? Are you listening to us? Wow!

"Here, it's about having fun and enjoying ourselves. To make a career out of a job you are excited to go to everyday is amazing. We are two lucky guys every morning."

Within the next month, "The Morning After" will officially have affiliates online. They expect anywhere from half a dozen to a dozen this year.

"The Morning After" broadcasts from 6:00 - 10:00 am each day on Revolution 91.7, Western's student-run radio station.
