Ellen Tandy teaches fourth and fifth grade science, and fourth grade art.

Gamaliel Elementary Assistant Principal Christie Biggerstaff says Tandy is a "caring and compassionate person"... who "has dedicated countless hours to many after-school endeavors."

Tandy has helped coach Gamaliel's academic team, and served as the Junior BETA sponsor for years.

She recently received a $1,000 check for being the Wal-mart Teacher of the Year.

i love u mrs. tandy u r the best good job on the wal-mart teacher of the month u did well and we love u in class and every were else to no matter were we r at u r the best and we r u proud to have u here at gamaliel elementary and sscience is good not my fav. because i really dont understand it but its o.k. well everyone loves u. sinceraly, a g.e.s student shelby nicole london byeeeeeee
