Bowling Green Municipal Utilities has reached an all-time new system peak electric demand, as the extreme heat continues to scorch South Central Kentucky.
The new peak demand occurred around four o'clock yesterday afternoon as temperatures reached 97 degrees.
BGMU's peak is driven by the increase in the number of commercial and residential customers and by use of cooling systems, as temperatures rise without relief for several days.
BGMU was able to handle the new peak load without any problems.
