Governor Ernie Fletcher said to a group of Republicans in western Kentucky Saturday night that the state is better off now than when he took office.
Fletcher is vowing to seek a second term. He also blamed Democrats and partisan politics as the cause of his administration's political troubles.
Fletcher says he came to Frankfort to do what's right.
He was speaking to a G-O-P crowd of about 100 at a state park in far western Kentucky. The governor is not attending an annual political picnic tomorrow at Fancy Farm. He says he will attend a Republican breakfast in the morning.
