As many people are getting ready for Thursday's turkey dinner, President George W. Bush is giving two lucky birds a break this Thanksgiving.

The President gave the official pardon this morning to the National Thanksgiving Turkey and its alternate.

Pumpkin and Pecan came from a farm in Iowa and now they're headed to Disneyland, where they'll serve as grand marshals for the park's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

During this morning's ceremony, Bush also took a moment to reflect on his final days in office and what he's grateful for this holiday season.

"This is my final Thanksgiving as the President. Over the past eight years, I have have been given many reasons to be thankful. I'm thankful to our men and women in uniform, and I am incredibly proud to have been their Commander in Chief," said Bush.
