A South Central Kentucky gas station has agreed to fines stemming from price gouging in the wake of Hurricane Katrina last fall.
A Franklin retailer, the Bluegrass Travel Plaza, LLC will pay $5,000 in penalties.
This comes after an investigation revealed some stores increased their profit margins by up to one dollar a gallon after the storm knocked out refineries along the gulf coast.
Ten gas stations across the state received $47,500 in fines last week for similar infractions; this now brings the total to $52,500.
A Bowling Green station is among those and a Scottsville station is now facing a lawsuit regarding this investigation.
