Kentucky State Police in eastern Kentucky are investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old boy.

Police say Raymond Christian Rice of Huddy in Pike County was shot in the head with a high-powered rifle at his home and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say their initial investigation indicates another juvenile in the home discharged the firearm, but detectives are still trying to determine what happened.

No charges have been filed, and police were calling the case an accidental shooting.

The shooting happened early Dec. 1.

Police say an autopsy is scheduled in Frankfort.
