Elisha Brown is a 16 year-old Junior who wants to go into the medical field or law.
However, she hasn't been able to go to class this school year.
"Well, what we're trying to do is get my daughter's immunization records, so we can get her enrolled from a private school into a public school", said Dan Brown, Elisha's father.
Brown says there's an unpaid tuition balance on Elisha's account at Glasgow Christian Academy. He says it's the school's policy that records are not released until the balance is paid.
However, Dan says he's currently going through a divorce and the decision as to who pays the 16 hundred dollar bill is still tied up in court.
"We've tried just enrolling her in school. We've tried to explain to GCA that her education is at stake. The money is coming it's just the wheels of justice that take time", said Brown.
Elisha's immunization records are from other states and Brown says he hasn't been able to get them. "All of her immunizations came from states Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada and so they were through private physicians and there's no real records. We have no way to track those down", said Brown.
Brown says Elisha is an honor role student and he just wants to get her in school because she's already missed a week.
"I just want to be able to get this child in school, so she can get caught up and carry on with her education. Her scholarships and everything depend upon it", said Brown.
Brown says he received partial records while he was in court recently, but he doesn't know if it's enough to enroll his daughter in school.
The attorney for Glasgow Christian Academy says he doesn't have a comment about the situation because it is a private matter.
