Todd County Business Burns Down

Around 10:20 this morning, the rear of "Cottrell's Woodworking " in Guthrie, was engulfed in flames.

All the downtown businesses were evacuated while multiple fire-fighting agencies fought for an hour to put out the blaze.

The fire was noticed by by-standers and nearby construction workers.

"Some of my proteges were working and they saw smoke and the fire alarm went off and then they went to the salon to make sure everybody got out in time and they checked the other buildings to make sure no one was in the vicinity of the fire," says construction worker, Ronald Seymour.

Guthrie Mayor Scott Marshall says as of right now the cause of the fire is unknown.

But they're speculating electrical problems might be the reason for the fire.

The "Cottrells Woodworking" had been in that building for 18 years.
