State representatives, local officials and U.S. Senator, Mitch McConnell, attended the ribbon cutting for the Bowling Green Technical College’s Transpark Center on Thurs., Aug. 24, 2006.

“The Transpark is a very important part of Bowling Green and Warren County’s economic development,” Senator Mitch McConnell said. “We’re trying to be helpful. I’ve put over $40 million into the road going in front of the Transpark. It’s a chance to give Bowling Green a chance to recognize its economic aspirations. I think it’s a great project.”

The 31,000 square-foot center will provide customized workforce training and specialized services to meet the needs of not only Transpark tenants, but also new and existing businesses in the area.

“This center here will address all industries. We’re going to be very, very flexible to meet the needs of all the industries in the area to the fullest extent possible,” said Dr. Nathan Hodges, BG Technical College president.

Programs offered at the new center include machine tool technology and a multi-skilled industrial maintenance program under the division of engineering technology. Training labs will include tool and die, mechatronics, welding, hydraulics, electronics and more.
