One man has pleaded guilty to his role in a high tech marijuana growing operation where $3 million worth of pot was hidden underground.
Authorities executed a search warrant at the barn on Craft Rd. in Simpson County last November. Inside they discovered an elevator built in a shower stall, powered by a generator, that was being used to access the underground operation.
Dale Snoddy, Cecil Sherman Hume, Gary Wayne Bullington and Trudy Elliot Jackson were the four men arrested in connection with the case.
Last week fifty-three-year-old Snoddy, also known as Charles Lawrence of Miami Beach, FL pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to manufacture one-thousand or more plants.
He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison and more than $1 million in fines. Snoddy’s sentencing is set for November 21st in U.S. District Court. The other three co-defendants are scheduled for trial on Sept. 18, 2006.
