Authorities in Owensboro have charged five juveniles in connection with a hotel fire that left four people injured.

A 16-year-old was charged with first-degree arson and first-degree burglary, and the others were charged with criminal trespassing.

Officials say the fire, smoke and water damaged 242 of the Executive Inn Rivermont's 600 rooms. Some of the guests had to evacuate through windows.

A fire inspector and firefighter as well as two people staying at the hotel suffered minor injuries.

Fire officials say the fire started in an unoccupied room on the second floor of the pool building.
