Mike Weaver, a retired Army colonel running for Congress against Representative Ron Lewis, will speak with members of the public today in Bowling Green.
Weaver said he'll talk about his opponent's allegation that the Weaver campaign is unfairly targeting Lewis' military record.
Weaver said the rumors circulating about Lewis' reason for leaving the military didn't come from the Weaver campaign office. Lewis was given a medical discharge from the Navy.
Weaver also said he hopes Lewis will engage in a series of face-to-face debates leading up to the November election.
Meanwhile, Lewis is making a campaign stop today in Clermont, Ky., at Jim Beam's Outpost.
