The Tennessee Valley Authority has proposed a $365 million increase to go into effect Oct. 1.
BGMU and Warren Rural Electric are joining 15 other distributors in opposition to the rate increase.
If the hike goes into effect, the average electric bill would increase by about $5 a month.
