Couple Indicted in Baseball Bat Murder

A Bowling Green couple accused of killing a man with a baseball bat has been indicted by a Warren County grand jury.

Christopher Hackworth and Tonya Ray are accused in the murder of Lee Johnson. Johnson was found dead inside his apartment on Kenilwood Way July 16. Police say he was killed by several blows to the head with a baseball bat.

Today a Warren County grand jury indicted Hackworth for murder, burglary, robbery and being a persistent felony offender, second degree. Ray was indicted for murder by complicity, burglary first degree and robbery first degree by complicity.

The couple remains jailed without bond and will be arraigned next week.
