Many of you may be avoiding the hot weather outside and trying to stay cool but what about your pet? The warm temperatures can be deadly when it comes to animals that are outside. Pat Hurt, a volunteer at the Humane Society, says water and shade are the two most important ways to protect your pet. She also says to never leave your pet alone in the car.
In Bowling Green there is an ordinance that says owners must provide shade, shelter, and water for their pets. If an owner is convicted for cruelty to an animal they may be fined for up to $500.
