Some area parents may feel a little safer after taking measures to safeguard their children in the event that they are ever missing.
Greenview Regional Hospital and WUHU FM have teamed up to form "Project Safe Kids."
The project is part of the Amber Alert and the Polly Klass Foundation.
DNA kids were handed out to parents today... adults are able to swab the inside of a child's mouth to collect a DNA sample, then store the genetic code in the kit for safe keeping. (It lasts up to 15 years)
Authorities say this extra information can be a big help if a child should ever be missing.
If you would like more information on getting a kit for your child, you can call Greenview Regional Hospital at 270-793-1000 or WUHU FM at 270-843-0107.
