"We're doing our best to keep everyone stable and get everyone through this situation as successful as possible."

That's the main goal of Gigi Meredith, who's helped those who need medical attention at the shelter at Grayson County High School.

"We've got Ibuprofen, bandaids, formulas, things like that," stated Meredith.

"We're keeping any medications, insulins, antibiotics-- anything that needs to be cool, we are putting them in a cooler back here," added Meredith.

The shelter also has emergency medical services-- just in case someone needs further attention, that's where Gigi's role really comes into action.

"We'll asses them and if we feel that they need to go to the hospital, for instance, if their blood sugar level is high, than if need be, we can send them to the hospital," said Meredith.

And three miles away at Bailey's Zip Mart, they've also had their hands full!

For the past few days, they've been the only place for miles.. with gas, diesel and fresh food.

"t was nonstop. People in the community, my husband, they stood at the gas pump just to keep it moving," stated owner, Jackie Lindsey.

"It was crazy! People were everywhere," stated Jen Russell.

We fed a lot of people yesterday!" added Gail Riggs.

But it's more than just a place to get gas or eat, for many it was life or death.

"People I've ran into have said what a savior this store was for them, because they didn't know what they would've done," said Brian Russell, who helped out in the store.

It was also a time for everyone to come together.

Something like now, they just all pull together, it's one big family," added Riggs.
