Hot Rod Race Rolls Into Town

The NHRA Hot Rod Reunion is coming to town this weekend, and bringing 25,000-30,000 race fans along with it. Beech Bend Raceway will host the weekend's activities, which will include time trials, races, and a top 40-car parade.

The Bowling Green Visitor's Bureau estimates race visitors could spend up to $3 million while in town this weekend, a great kickoff to the summer tourist season for local businesses. This is the first year for this event to take place in Bowling Green, and local and national organizers say they hope it's not the last. Race promoters have reached a long-term agreement with owner Dallas Jones of Beech Bend Park.

Concert by "The Diamonds" 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Chapel Service 9 a.m.
