Ohio County Arson

Just hours after the bodies of two women were pulled out of an Ohio county strip mine pit last week, police say the home of one of their acquaintances was set on fire.

Twenty-year-old Holly Harrison and 23-year-old Ashley Gilmore of Centertown, Ky., were found inside their vehicle on Sept. 6, 2006, nearly a week after they were reported missing.

Authorities are awaiting toxicology reports to determine their cause of death. But state police said hours after their bodies were found a trailer owned by 27-year-old Samuel Snell was set on fire.

Police said Snell knew both women but the nature of their relationship is unclear.

Investigators know the trailer and a building behind it were intentionally set on fire because there were several points of origination, but so far no suspects have been named in the girls deaths or in the fire.

If anyone has information related to the fire call 800-27ARSON and give the information to the KY State Arson Task Force. Callers can remain anonymous and if the information leads to an indictment and arrest of an arsonist, the caller can collect up to $1000 for the tip.
