Many of you have seen the movie "Horse Whisperer."
Well, on Tuesday night, an audience at Western's Ag Expo Center got an up close lesson from a real horse whisperer Dennis Reis who actually helped consult the makers of the movie. Reis doesn't use the traditional method of "breaking" horses, a technique he says is much less effective.
Instead, this California native uses a method he calls "Horsemanship", where man learns to communicate effectively with horses through body language.
Reis started with a locally owned gelding during the demonstration (never ridden before) and in a couple of hours time, had built up enough trust with the horse to successfully ride it.
