Thicker Doors Required

City leaders are making some changes on Western's campus hoping to make it a little safer for students.

Twenty-one student organizations on Western's campus have thirty days to get up to speed with a new fire code. After a meeting between the city fire marshall and building inspector, students must now install solid wood doors of a certain thickness.

The doors must have latches and be able to keep from burning in twenty minutes. Currently eleven organizations are not in compliance with the new changes.
