Western Grade System

Getting a 4.0 may soon be even tougher on Western's campus. The University Senate is considering changing the school's grading system from a five tier grading system to a thirteen tier system. That means professors would be able to grade students with pluses or minuses.

Professors say the new system would provide more accuracy while students say achieving a 4.0 would be more competitive. Last Thursday Western's University Senate heard the first reading on the debate. Come November the Senate will vote on the second reading. If the motion passes the proposal will be sent to ProVost Barbara Burch.
