An employee of an area jail sits behind bars following an alleged drug smuggling operation.
Tommy Loving of the Warren County Drug Task Force says an estimated 80 percent of housed inmates are being held for direct or indirect contact with illegal drugs. Police say those inmates seemed to be a captive audience for a drug smuggling operation.
After being tipped off to the illegal activity three weeks ago, an informant was placed in a jail cell. Authorities indicated their informant wasn't the only person to receive drugs Thursday morning.
Police arrested 24-year-old Adrienne Yorn of Bowling Green, a deputy jailer. They seized five grams of marijuana on site. A later search of her car and home produced an additional 43 grams. Yorn is being charged with trafficking marijuana, promotion contraband and official misconduct.
Yorn herself is currently being lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail pending her arraignment in Warren District Court.
