Charles Collins passed away this week in Glasgow. Collins spent 33 of his 79 years as director of the Bowling Green Boys and Girls Club, and is widely credited with helping it to become the successful organization it is today.

Stan England, the organizations' director since Collins' retirement in 1985, says there are hundreds of successful BG residents who can attribute their success in business and life to Mr. Collins influence on them at a very young age.

Collins' tenure as director was characterized by a love of and belief in discipline, and compassion for underprivileged children. B.B. Davis, a Warren County Sheriff's Detective, says the Boys and Girls Club plays a vital role in keeping troubled kids off the streets, and in a positive environment.
